SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday said that terror recruitment in Jammu and Kashmir has become “almost negligible,” crediting continuous anti-terror operations and intensified security measures for weakening the terror network across the Union Territory.Addressing a public gathering, the LG said security forces are fully prepared to counter infiltration attempts from across the border and warned that terrorism will continue to face a strong and decisive response in Jammu and Kashmir.Referring to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, Manoj Sinha said the country now knows the perpetrators behind the incident and that the Army and CRPF avenged the attack through the successful “Operation Mahadev.”“Our Army and CRPF responded precisely through Operation Mahadev. The identified targets were hit accurately within 48 to 72 hours after the attack,” Sinha said while praising the firm stand taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The LG also highlighted the changes witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370, saying the region has seen peaceful elections, smooth delimitation exercises, and a stable political atmosphere without violence or repolling. He reiterated that restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir will take place as assured earlier by the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister.Speaking on cyber security and terror monitoring, Sinha said security agencies are keeping strict surveillance on digital platforms, including Telegram and WhatsApp, to prevent misuse by terror groups and drug syndicates.“Our agencies are monitoring every aspect seriously. Drugs and terrorism are directly linked through terror funding networks,” he said. The Lieutenant Governor further revealed major developments under the ongoing anti-drug crackdown in Jammu and Kashmir.
