
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 24: Traffic Police City Srinagar has issued a detailed traffic advisory for Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi celebrations, announcing route diversions and designated parking arrangements for devotees travelling to Hazratbal Shrine.The traffic plan will remain in effect for the celebrations on the intervening night of August 25 and 26, 2026, as well as Friday prayers on August 28, officials said.Under the advisory, vehicles coming from North Kashmir will be diverted after Shalteng through Parimpora, Qamarwari, Cement Bridge, Noorbagh, Sekidafar, Eidgah, Alimasjid, Sazgaripora, Hawal, Alamgari Bazar, Mill Stop, Molvi Stop, Botshah Mohallah and Kanitar before reaching the University parking area from the Saderbal side.Traffic arriving from South Kashmir via Panthachowk will follow the Stone Quarry, Batwara, Sonwar Bazar, Ram Munshi Bagh, Gupkar, Grand Palace, Zethiyar Ghat, Nishat, Foreshore Road and Habbak route before entering the University parking area through the Naseembagh side.For devotees travelling from Budgam and adjoining areas, vehicles will be routed through Hyderpora, Tengpora, Bemina Bypass, Bemina Crossing, Qamarwari, Cement Bridge, Noorbagh, Sekidafar, Eidgah, Alimasjid, Sazgaripora, Hawal, Alamgari Bazar, Mill Stop, Molvi Stop, Botshah Mohallah and Kanitar.Vehicles coming from Lal Chowk will proceed via SRTC Crossing, Ikhwan Chowk, Khanyar Chowk, Bhori Kadal, Rajouri Kadal, Gojwari Chowk, Hawal, Alamgari Bazar, Mill Stop, Molvi Stop, Botshah Mohallah and Kanitar.Devotees travelling from Ganderbal will use the Nagbal-Zakoora-Habbak route to reach the Naseembagh parking area.The Traffic Police has also announced separate return routes from Hazratbal. North Kashmir-bound traffic will exit through University Parking, Ashaibagh Crossing, Rainawari, Khanyar, Nowpora, Dalgate, M.A. Road, Budshah Bridge, Jehangir Chowk Flyover, Batmaloo, Mominabad, Tengpora, Bemina Bypass, Parimpora and Shalteng.South Kashmir-bound vehicles will use the Naseembagh Parking-Habbak-Foreshore Road-Nishat-Zethiyar Ghat-Gupkar-Ram Munshi Bagh-Sonwar Bazar-Panthachowk route.Separate return arrangements have also been made for Budgam, Ganderbal and Lal Chowk-bound traffic to manage congestion during the Eid-i-Milad celebrations.For parking, vehicles from North and Central Kashmir will use the University campus through Sir Syed Gate on the Saderbal side, while vehicles from South Kashmir, including Ganderbal, will use the Naseembagh University campus through Budshah Gate from the Habbak side.Vehicles travelling from Rainawari and Khanyar towards Hazratbal can use NIT Parking and Multi-Level Parking Hazratbal. A separate traffic camp has also been designated for VIP and official vehicles.The Srinagar traffic advisory has been issued in view of the expected movement of a large number of devotees during Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi celebrations. Commuters have been advised to follow the prescribed routes and cooperate with traffic personnel to ensure smooth movement across the city.
