
SRINAGAR: Continuing its intensified campaign against narcotics under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police on Friday attached immovable properties worth more than Rs 3.5 crore linked to three alleged drug peddlers involved in multiple NDPS cases.According to police, the action was taken under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act as part of efforts to dismantle the financial network of drug trafficking in Kashmir.Officials said property worth nearly Rs 80 lakh belonging to Shahid Mushtaq Dar, a resident of Barthana Qamarwari, was attached after investigations revealed that the assets were allegedly acquired through proceeds of the illegal drug trade.In another major action, Police Station Nowgam attached assets worth around Rs 1.50 crore belonging to Mehrajuddin Ganie of Wagoora, who is involved in FIR No. 156/2025 under the NDPS Act.The seized property reportedly includes 18 marlas of land, a single-storey residential house and a cowshed located in BK Pora area of Srinagar district.Police said investigations confirmed that the property had been purchased using money generated through narcotics trafficking activities.Meanwhile, Srinagar Police also attached a double-storey residential house worth nearly Rs 1.20 crore belonging to accused drug peddler Tawqeer Ahmad Mir of Rawathpora Baghat Barzulla in connection with FIR No. 08/2026 registered under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Saddar Srinagar.The attachment process was carried out in the presence of the Executive Magistrate Chanapora and independent witnesses, officials said.Police said the move reflects the administration’s zero-tolerance policy against the drug menace and reiterated that properties acquired through illegal narcotics trade will continue to face legal action and confiscation.Srinagar Police also appealed to the public to support anti-drug efforts and help make Jammu and Kashmir drug-free.
