
SRINAGAR: In a major crackdown against narcotics networks, Srinagar Police on Saturday attached immovable properties and a vehicle worth nearly ₹6 crore linked to alleged drug peddlers under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.The action was carried out by Police Station Khanyar under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act against three accused persons allegedly involved in multiple drug trafficking cases across Srinagar.According to officials, the biggest attachment involves Nazir Ahmad Mir alias Nazir Lashkari of Koolipora, Khanyar. Police attached his double-storeyed residential house along with eight shops built on 4.5 marlas of land. The property is valued at nearly ₹3.2 crore and is linked to FIR No. 08/2020 registered under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Khanyar.In another major action, police attached a Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number JK01AW-8898 along with seven marlas of land and a temporary structure located at Baghi Roop Singh, Miskeen Bagh, belonging to Gulzar Ahmad Mir. Officials said the seized assets are collectively valued at around ₹1.8 crore and are connected with FIR No. 08/2026 registered under Sections 8/21/29 of the NDPS Act.Police also attached a single-storeyed residential house constructed on nine marlas of land at Lone Mohalla, Nowpora Khanyar, belonging to Zahid Manzoor Rather. The property, valued at nearly ₹80 lakh, is linked to FIR No. 96/2020 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act.Officials said the attached assets were identified during investigation as proceeds of illegal narcotics trafficking and drug trade operating in the region.Srinagar Police reiterated that the anti-drug campaign across Jammu and Kashmir will continue with full intensity and warned that properties acquired through illegal narcotics activities will face strict legal action under the NDPS Act.
