Srinagar Airport Withdraws Weekly Runway Closure, Daily Flights to Continue; Night Runway Maintenance Till October 2026.

Srinagar, July 4: In a major relief for air travellers and the tourism sector, Srinagar Airport has officially withdrawn the proposed weekly runway closure, confirming that flight operations will continue seven days a week without any full-day suspension.
According to an official airport update, the previously proposed Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) that planned complete runway closures on Mondays and Tuesdays has been withdrawn. As a result, daily flight operations at Srinagar Airport will continue uninterrupted, ensuring smoother travel for passengers, pilgrims, tourists, and business travellers.
The airport authorities clarified that operational and watch hours will remain unchanged from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, while night-time runway maintenance will continue until October 2026. The maintenance work will be carried out during non-operational hours and will not affect scheduled daytime flights.
“There will be no full airfield closure at Srinagar Airport this year. Flight operations will continue on all days with operational/watch hours from 0800 hrs to 1700 hrs. Night closures for runway maintenance will continue until October 2026,” the airport said in its official statement.
Airport officials further said that airlines will operate revised schedules within the notified operational timings. Passengers have been advised to check their latest flight schedules directly with their respective airlines before heading to the airport to avoid any inconvenience.
Travellers are also urged to rely only on official airline and airport updates for accurate information regarding Srinagar Airport flight schedules, runway maintenance, and flight operations.
