Second Bear Attack in 24 Hours Leaves Woman Injured in Central Kashmir.

SRINAGAR: Concern has gripped residents of Khonmoh on the outskirts of Srinagar after a 57-year-old woman was injured in a bear attack on Monday morning, marking the second such incident in the area within less than 24 hours.
According to officials, the woman was attacked by a bear near her residence in Shah Mohalla, Khonmoh. She was identified as Fatima, 57, wife of Mohammad Maqbool Wani, a resident of the area.
The latest incident comes just a day after a man was reportedly injured in a bear attack at Shiv Dakri in Khonmoh, raising fresh concerns over increasing bear movement in residential areas of Central Kashmir.
The back-to-back attacks have triggered fear among local residents, who are concerned about their safety amid reports of wild bears venturing closer to human settlements.
Residents have urged the concerned authorities and wildlife officials to take immediate measures to prevent further human-wildlife conflicts and ensure the safety of people living in the affected areas.
With two bear attacks reported within a span of less than 24 hours, concern is growing among residents of Khonmoh and adjoining areas of Srinagar.
