Srinagar, Aug 3: Schools across Poonch district resumed normal functioning on Monday after remaining closed for 28 days due to prolonged adverse weather conditions, bringing relief to thousands of students, parents and teachers. With the weather improving significantly, educational institutions reopened their doors as students returned to classrooms for offline learning after nearly a month-long disruption to academic activities.
The closure had been ordered as a precautionary measure following continuous heavy rainfall and unstable weather that affected normal life across the border district. As conditions gradually improved, the authorities gave the green signal for schools to reopen, allowing regular academic sessions to resume across the district.
School campuses witnessed a lively atmosphere on Monday morning as students arrived in large numbers, marking the end of an extended break. School administrations ensured that all necessary arrangements were in place for a smooth and safe reopening, while teachers welcomed students back to classrooms and resumed the academic schedule.
Officials said educational activities have now returned to normal across Poonch, though the administration will continue to monitor weather conditions closely and issue advisories whenever required to ensure the safety of students and staff.
