SRINAGAR: In a major relief for Muslims planning to perform Umrah, Saudi Arabia has officially introduced a one-year multiple-entry Umrah visa, allowing pilgrims to visit the Kingdom multiple times within a year while staying for a combined maximum of 90 days.According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said the new visa is part of the Kingdom’s Saudi Vision 2030 and Pilgrim Experience Program, aimed at making Umrah travel easier, more flexible, and digitally accessible for millions of pilgrims worldwide.Under the new policy, the visa will remain valid for 365 days from the date of issuance, enabling pilgrims to perform Umrah on multiple occasions. However, the total duration of all visits cannot exceed 90 days.The ministry said that before every visit, pilgrims must purchase an approved service package through the Nusuk platform. The package duration must match the number of remaining days available on the visa. In addition, travellers are required to obtain an Umrah permit through the Nusuk app before entering Saudi Arabia.Officials clarified that the visa will automatically deactivate when a pilgrim leaves the Kingdom and will reactivate only after the required procedures for the next visit have been completed.The ministry also announced that the multiple-entry Umrah visa will not be valid during the Hajj season. It will remain inactive from 1 Dhu al-Qi’dah to 13 Dhu al-Hijjah, in accordance with Saudi Arabia’s Hajj regulations.The new initiative is expected to simplify Umrah travel, improve the overall pilgrimage experience, and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s digital services for international pilgrims.
