Srinagar, Aug 5: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and Member of Parliament Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan, along with party leaders Sajad Kichloo and Shammi Obera, on Wednesday joined the Rahul Gandhi-led INDIA bloc protest at Parliament, reiterating the demand for the immediate restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.The demonstration, led by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, witnessed MPs from several INDIA bloc parties, including the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, assembling in the Parliament complex with placards calling for the restoration of J&K statehood and the revival of democratic rights in the Union Territory.Addressing the gathering, NC leaders urged the Centre to honour its commitment to restore full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that the move is vital for strengthening democracy, protecting constitutional rights, and fulfilling the aspirations of the people.During the protest, opposition MPs also demanded a statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the alleged use of force against students during a demonstration at Jantar Mantar.The Parliament protest brought together senior opposition leaders from across the INDIA bloc, intensifying the political push for the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood and highlighting the continuing debate over the Union Territory’s constitutional and administrative future.
