Muhammad Amin’s Death Raises Concerns Over Safety of Field Staff in Budgam.

A tragic incident has left the field staff community in mourning after Muhammad Amin, a Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) employee posted in Division Budgam, Sub-Division Chadoora and Section Kultreh, reportedly lost his life while performing his official duties. The death of the field-level employee has sparked concerns over the workload, responsibilities and safety conditions faced by employees working on the ground. For the family of the deceased, the incident has left behind an irreplaceable loss and an uncertain future. The tragedy has also renewed calls for stronger safety measures for field staff, particularly those required to carry out duties under challenging working conditions. The Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Employees Union (JKEEU) has urged the concerned authorities to conduct a thorough, impartial and time-bound inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Muhammad Amin’s death and determine responsibility if any negligence is established. The union said the safety, dignity and well-being of field-level employees must remain a priority and stressed that no employee should have to put their life at risk while carrying out official responsibilities. JKEEU also called for greater attention to the working conditions and safety requirements of field employees, saying that adequate safeguards are essential to prevent similar tragedies in the future. The incident has raised an important question about whether existing safety arrangements are sufficient for employees working in the field and whether stronger protective measures are needed to safeguard their lives. As the bereaved family comes to terms with the loss, JKEEU has appealed to the authorities to ensure that the circumstances of the incident are properly examined and that appropriate action is taken wherever accountability is established. The union expressed condolences to the family and prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul, while wishing strength and courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
