
SRINAGAR: A delegation of Members of Parliament (MPs) on Friday visited Mawar Langate in Kupwara district, the residence of Baramulla MP Engineer Rashid, where they met his family, offered condolences, and expressed solidarity with the bereaved household.The MP delegation, which included Sudhakar Singh, Umesh Bahubhai Patel, and other political leaders from different states, interacted with family members, party workers, and local residents who had gathered at the residence.Addressing reporters, the visiting parliamentarians said there were many voices across India that understood the concerns, aspirations, and hardships faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir. They stressed that dialogue in Kashmir, democratic participation, and political engagement were essential for achieving long-term peace and reconciliation in the region.Leading the delegation, Sudhakar Singh said the people of Kashmir had endured significant challenges and that their grievances should be addressed with seriousness, dignity, and sincerity. He also highlighted Engineer Rashid’s role in Parliament, particularly his interventions on issues concerning J&K politics, governance, and public welfare.The MPs further stated that the continued detention of Engineer Rashid was weakening an important political link between New Delhi and Kashmir. They urged authorities to facilitate his release so that he could represent the people of Baramulla constituency, who had elected him to Parliament.During their interaction with local residents, the delegation emphasized that the people of India were not adversaries of Kashmiris and that constitutional commitments related to Jammu and Kashmir must be respected in both letter and spirit.The visiting leaders reiterated that Kashmir dialogue, democratic engagement, political reconciliation, and meaningful outreach remain crucial for addressing the aspirations, concerns, and grievances of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and for strengthening trust between Kashmir and New Delhi.
