SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir’s cultivable land has increased marginally to 10.97 lakh hectares, marking a slight rise in the area available for agricultural activities across the Union Territory, reflecting steady progress in Jammu and Kashmir agriculture.The increase comes as agriculture continues to remain an important part of J&K’s rural economy, supporting J&K farmers and livelihoods across both Jammu and Kashmir divisions, where farming in Kashmir and other regions remains a key source of income.The latest figure highlights the significance of protecting agricultural land and strengthening farming infrastructure to support sustainable agricultural growth in the region, ensuring continued stability for agricultural land in J&K and the broader farming community.
