Srinagar, Aug 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has launched the Chief Minister’s Digital Internship Programme 2026, a six-month paid internship aimed at providing young technology students with hands-on experience in government technology projects and real-world digital governance challenges. Implemented by the J&K e-Governance Agency, the programme’s first batch will offer eligible students from BE/BTech, MTech, MCA and MSc Computer Science backgrounds practical exposure to GovTech, cybersecurity and digital services. Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹10,000 throughout the six-month internship, along with mentorship from experienced experts working on government technology initiatives. The programme is designed to help participants strengthen their technical skills while gaining practical knowledge of how digital solutions are developed and implemented in public governance. Top-performing projects will also receive recognition through a certificate signed by the Chief Minister, along with the “Best Intern Initiative Award.” With a focus on practical exposure, expert mentorship and recognition, the initiative seeks to connect Jammu and Kashmir’s growing pool of technical talent with real-world governance requirements and emerging opportunities in the digital sector. The government has positioned the J&K Digital Internship Programme 2026 as an investment in young professionals and a step towards building a stronger, technology-driven digital ecosystem across the Union Territory.
