J&K Govt Teacher Suspended Over Alleged Harassment of Female Student

SRINAGAR: A government school teacher in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district has been suspended following allegations of harassment of a female student at a government school, officials said.

The teacher, identified as Raiz Ahmed, was posted at Government High School Harroge in Zone Gool, Ramban. He was placed under immediate suspension after an inquiry committee submitted its report on September 14, 2026.

The inquiry was initiated after a girl student complained of alleged harassment by the teacher at the school. Following the inquiry proceedings, the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Ramban, ordered Ahmed’s suspension under Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control & Appeal) Rules, 1956.

During the suspension period, Raiz Ahmed will remain attached to Government Primary School Bhatta in Zone Khari, according to the official order.

The education authorities said further administrative action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry. The suspension comes amid allegations concerning the conduct of a government teacher towards a female student at a school in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The case is currently subject to the administrative inquiry and further action will depend on its findings.
