Srinagar, July 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has officially announced summer vacations for Government Degree Colleges across the Kashmir Division and the Winter Zone of Jammu Division, providing relief to thousands of students and teaching staff during the peak summer season.According to Government Order No. 234-JK(HE) of 2026, issued by the Higher Education Department, all Government Degree Colleges in the notified regions will remain closed for summer vacation from July 21 to August 2, 2026.The order, issued by the Higher Education Department, Civil Secretariat, has been approved by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir. Academic activities in all affected colleges will resume after the vacation period.The decision is expected to offer much-needed respite to students, faculty members and non-teaching staff amid the prevailing summer heat while ensuring a smooth continuation of the academic calendar after the break.
