Jhelum, Tributaries Rising but Flowing Below Flood Levels: I&FC

Srinagar, July 23: Water levels in the River Jhelum and several tributaries continued to rise on Wednesday following recent rainfall, but all major gauges remain well below the flood declaration and danger marks, officials said.According to the Irrigation & Flood Control Department (I&FC), water levels at Sangam, Pampore, Ram Munshi Bagh, Asham, and Wullar are increasing but remain within safe limits. Among the tributaries, Vishow Nallah and Rambiyara Nallah showed a rising trend, while Lidder, Doodhganga, and Sindh Nallah recorded a decrease in water levels.Authorities said the situation is under constant monitoring and advised residents to stay alert and follow official updates.
