
JAMMU: The ongoing Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan has delivered major results across Jammu division, with authorities arresting 701 drug peddlers, registering 598 FIRs, and attaching or demolishing properties worth over ₹45 crore in a massive crackdown on drug trafficking networks.The progress was reviewed during a high-level meeting jointly chaired by Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar and IGP Jammu Zone Bhim Sen Tuti, who assessed the achievements of the 100-day anti-drug campaign.Officials informed the meeting that 155 drug hotspots have been identified across Jammu, while 24 PIT-NDPS detention orders have been issued against major drug smugglers. Security agencies have recovered significant quantities of narcotics, including over 14 kg heroin, 49 kg ganja, 3.7 kg charas, and more than 204 kg poppy straw.As part of the campaign, authorities also destroyed illegal poppy cultivation, wild cannabis plantations, and large quantities of illicit liquor. In a strong deterrent action, 62 properties worth ₹19.30 crore were demolished, while 21 properties worth ₹24.86 crore and movable assets worth ₹1.69 crore were seized or attached.The crackdown has also led to administrative action, with 180 passports recommended for suspension, 101 driving licences suspended, 81 cancelled, and hundreds of vehicle registrations suspended or revoked.Alongside enforcement measures, the administration has intensified rehabilitation efforts. Out of 2,293 identified drug users, 884 youth were selected for rehabilitation, with 547 successfully rehabilitated and 254 linked to self-employment opportunities.Officials said the campaign will continue with a focus on drug de-addiction, youth rehabilitation, hotspot monitoring, and community awareness, reinforcing Jammu and Kashmir’s commitment to building a drug-free society.
