SRINAGAR: Concerns over the health of jailed former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan have intensified after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) alleged that the party chief has lost vision in one eye due to alleged mistreatment during custody.PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, while speaking to media and quoted by Pakistani outlets, claimed that Imran Khan has spent nearly 1,000 days in detention and that his health condition is rapidly deteriorating inside jail. The PTI leader alleged that both Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi are being denied proper access to lawyers and family members despite court orders, calling the situation “unprecedented” and a violation of prisoners’ constitutional rights.According to PTI, several petitions related to prison conditions, visitation rights and medical access remain pending, while the party claims all legal options have nearly been exhausted.Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are currently lodged in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, after being convicted in corruption-related cases, including the high-profile Toshakhana case. They are also facing additional proceedings linked to the May 9 unrest in Pakistan.PTI has repeatedly alleged that the cases against Imran Khan are politically motivated and based on unreliable testimony, accusations strongly disputed by Pakistani authorities.Meanwhile, earlier medical reports cited by official Pakistani sources stated that Imran Khan had received specialist treatment for eye-related complications at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), where doctors reportedly observed partial improvement in his condition. The latest claims have once again triggered massive political debate and concern among PTI supporters over Imran Khan’s health, prison conditions and ongoing legal battles in Pakistan.
