Govt Renames Anantnag School After Pahalgam Hero Aadil Hussain Shah.

SRINAGAR: In a major tribute to bravery and sacrifice, the Jammu and Kashmir government has renamed a school in South Kashmir after Aadil Hussain Shah, the tourist guide who lost his life while protecting visitors during last year’s deadly Pahalgam terror attack.Hapatnar High School in Anantnag has now officially been renamed as Shaheed Aadil Memorial High School during a ceremony attended by Minister Sakeena Itoo.Speaking at the event, Itoo said Aadil Hussain Shah’s courage and sacrifice would always be remembered across Jammu and Kashmir and the entire country.“His bravery will never be forgotten. Risking his own life to save tourists was an act of extraordinary courage,” the minister said.Recalling the tragic incident, Itoo said she had visited the attack site on the same night and described Aadil’s actions as deeply moving and unforgettable.She said the decision to rename the school reflects the government’s commitment to honouring martyrs and preserving their legacy for future generations.“Within a year, this school has been renamed after Shaheed Aadil Hussain Shah. His name and sacrifice will continue to inspire generations,” she added.The minister also expressed solidarity with the bereaved family, saying the recognition may provide some comfort to Aadil’s parents in their time of grief.The move has drawn widespread appreciation on social media, with many hailing Aadil Hussain Shah as a symbol of courage, humanity, and Kashmir’s spirit of hospitality.
