SRINAGAR: Gold prices in India witnessed a marginal decline on Monday, with the indicative rate falling to Rs 13,273.12 per gram, compared with Rs 13,295.33 per gram on Friday, according to data compiled by FXStreet. The price declined by Rs 22.21 per gram, marking a fall of around 0.17 percent. FXStreet calculates indicative Indian gold rates by converting international gold prices into Indian rupees and local measurement units. These figures are reference rates and may differ from actual prices offered by local jewellers and bullion markets across the country. The latest gold price decline in India comes amid fluctuations in international gold prices, with the precious metal remaining sensitive to movements in the US dollar, interest-rate expectations, geopolitical developments and investor demand for safe-haven assets. Gold prices can also change during the trading day depending on global market conditions and currency movements. The quoted rates should therefore be treated as indicative benchmarks rather than uniform retail prices applicable across India.
