
Anantnag, July 1: Heavy rainfall triggered flash floods in Guridraman village of Larnoo in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday, causing panic among residents and prompting an immediate rescue response.According to reports, the flash floods struck the village during the afternoon following incessant rain. Several students were inside a local school when the floods hit but were safely rescued by local residents.The extent of damage to property and infrastructure is yet to be assessed.Following the incident, teams of the Police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the local administration rushed to the affected area to carry out rescue and relief operations.Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Bilal Mohi-ud-Din said the administration is verifying the incident and has already deputed a team to the site to assess the situation and coordinate the response.Further details are awaited.
