Srinagar, July 2: In a major development in the Jammu and Kashmir Health Department recruitment scam, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir has chargesheeted four individuals for allegedly securing government jobs using fake and forged educational certificates. According to an official statement, the Crime Branch J&K filed a chargesheet in FIR No. 16/2014 before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar, under Sections 420, 468 and 471 RPC. The accused—Shuja Jeelani, Mohd Iqbal, Nisar Ahmad Wani and Riyaz Ahmad Shah—are alleged to have obtained appointments in the Health Department after being selected by the Services Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB) on the basis of forged educational testimonials. During the investigation, authorities verified that the certificates submitted by the accused were fake and inconsistent with official records, leading to the cancellation of their appointments. The investigation further established that the accused had allegedly cheated government authorities by using forged documents to obtain public employment. The Economic Offences Wing Kashmir has urged the public to remain vigilant against recruitment fraud, fake certificate scams, and other economic offences, and has appealed to victims of such frauds to report cases to the SSP, EOW Kashmir, or submit complaints via email at sspeow-kmr@jkpolice.gov.in.
