Srinagar, July 17: In a major anti-drug operation, the District Administration Budgam, in coordination with District Police Budgam, demolished four illegally constructed properties allegedly linked to drug peddlers in the Khansahib sub-division of central Kashmir on Friday. The demolition drive was carried out in the Parnewa and Arigam areas in the presence of revenue and police officials as part of the district’s ongoing campaign to dismantle infrastructure associated with the narcotics trade. According to officials, the action led to the demolition of three illegal structures comprising four shops, a cowshed and a tile factory, all allegedly belonging to individuals involved in drug peddling. Authorities said the move is part of a broader strategy to identify and destroy assets allegedly acquired through or used for narcotics-related activities while intensifying efforts to curb drug abuse and trafficking across the district. The administration reiterated its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against the drug menace and said such coordinated operations with the police will continue to ensure strict action against those involved in the illegal narcotics trade, safeguard communities, and create a safer environment for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
