
SRINAGAR, August 25: Security forces recovered arms and ammunition during a search operation in Shopian district of south Kashmir on Tuesday, officials said.
The search operation was jointly conducted by 34 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and SOG Imam Sahib in the Narwani area of Shopian.
According to officials, the search team recovered a grenade, four mobile phones, two AK-47 magazines and four posters allegedly linked to Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) from an orchard in Narwani.
Three Persons Detained
Three persons have been detained in connection with the recovery. They have been identified as Ashiq Hussain Kumar, resident of Laram Ganjipora, Kulgam; Arif Kumar, also from Laram Ganjipora; and Harris Manzoor, resident of Anchidoora, Anantnag.
Officials said further investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the recovery and determine any possible links to the recovered material.
