woman died of a suspected cardiac arrest following panic and chaos triggered by an assault incident in the Zeithyar area of Nishat on the outskirts of Srinagar, while police have launched a manhunt to trace two unidentified assailants involved in the case.
According to official sources, two unknown persons allegedly barged into the house of a Sumo driver, a resident of Zeithyar, Nishat, and assaulted him, leaving him injured.During the commotion that followed the attack, a woman from the neighbourhood suffered a heart attack and collapsed. She was rushed for medical assistance but was declared dead shortly thereafter.
Police personnel from Nishat Police Station rushed to the spot; however, the assailants had fled before their arrival. The injured man was taken into custody for questioning after police found him under the influence of alcohol. He was provided medical treatment and is presently lodged at the police station, officials said.A case has been registered under FIR No. 7/26 at Police Station Nishat. Police said investigations are underway to ascertain the motive behind the assault and to trace the accused persons.Officials added that all angles, including the sequence of events leading to the woman’s death, are being thoroughly examined
