Widespread rainfall is currently affecting most plains of the Valley, while higher reaches have been experiencing continuous snowfall since the morning hours.
The prevailing weather system is now in its peak phase and is expected to remain active until late tonight or early tomorrow morning.
During this time, moderate to heavy rainfall will continue across the plains, accompanied by ongoing snowfall over higher elevations.
Thereafter, rain and snowfall activity is likely to become intermittent, with brief breaks in between, and may persist until tomorrow afternoon.
At present, no snowfall is expected over the plains of the Valley.
However, a few middle reaches could witness light snowfall during the night hours.
