Train Service Halted After Eagle Collision in South Kashmir, Pilot Safe

Anantnag, Nov 8. A minor incident occurred on Saturday morning when Train No. 74626 (Baramulla–Banihal service) was struck by an eagle while passing between Bijbehara and Anantnag railway stations in south Kashmir.

Official sources told news agency KNT that the bird collided with the front windshield of the train, causing minor injuries to the loco pilot identified as Vishal. The injured pilot was given first aid at Anantnag Railway Station and is stated to be out of danger.

Railway officials halted the train at Anantnag Station immediately after the collision to ensure passenger safety and to conduct a detailed inspection of the locomotive before allowing further movement.

Authorities said all precautionary measures were followed and that passenger safety continues to be the foremost priority of the railway department. [KNT]
