Students hail JKBOSE for granting relaxation in syllabus

Students have expressed their gratitude towards the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) for granting a 15 percent relaxation in the annual regular examinations for grades 10, 11, and 12.Zahid Ahmad, a student, told Rising Kashmir that those studying in grades 10, 11, and 12 were unable to complete their entire syllabus in school, due to disruption this year.“We have been requesting JKBOSE to grant us a 30 percent relaxation in the syllabus for the 2025 annual regular examinations for grades 10, 11, and 12, so that we can adequately prepare for the exams,” Zahid saidHe welcomed JKBOSE’s decision to release the examination date sheets early and to provide a 15 percent relaxation in the syllabus.Nazish Jan, another student said that after the Jammu and Kashmir Government shifted the examination session from March to November. The parents and students appreciated the government’s decision during that period. The relaxation offered by JKBOSE is considered a commendable decision during these challenging times.“Due to the limited timeframe, students were unable to complete their syllabus. This academic year, classwork in schools has been significantly impacted, which is reason JKBOSE has provided a 15 percent relaxation in the syllabus,” she saidPertinent to mention here, in 10th grade, a total of 95,000 students are expected to participate in the examinations, in 11th grade, 81,000 students will appear into the exams, while in 12th grade, 71,000 students will appear for the exams from the Kashmir Division and the winter zone areas of the Jammu Division. This includes students from District Kargil, who will be taking the exams in the forthcoming session that has been reinstated by the Government to October-November.
