Srinagar, Feb 12 A tragic incident occurred in the Parimpora area of Srinagar on Thursday after two minor boys were critically injured when heavy tree logs reportedly fell on them, resulting in the death of one child and leaving the other battling for life.
Officials said the incident took place when stacked timber logs suddenly collapsed, trapping the two brothers beneath. Locals rushed to the spot and immediately shifted the injured children to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Ahraan, son of Mohammad Imran, a resident of Boat Colony Bemina. He was 10 years old. Doctors declared him brought dead upon arrival.
His younger brother, Aehraan, aged 6 years, sustained critical injuries in the incident. Hospital sources said his condition remains critical and he is undergoing treatment.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated proceedings to ascertain the circumstances under which the logs fell.
