Pulwama, Jan 11: A fire broke out in Herpora area of Drabgam in Pulwama district on Sunday, engulfing a residential house and the Jamia Masjid, triggering panic in the locality.
Locals said the blaze spread rapidly, causing damage before firefighting teams could fully respond. Fire and Emergency Services personnel, assisted by locals, launched operations to bring the blaze under control and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures.
The house was gutted in the incident while the Jamia Masjid adjacent to the house suffered minor damage.
There were no immediate reports of casualties. Officials said a detailed assessment of damage would be carried out after the cooling operation.
