Tensions flared in Madhya Pradesh’s Betul district on Sunday after a viral video showed a man allegedly raping a cow, sparking anger among locals who vandalised and set fire to shops, vehicles and a house. Police said the accused was detained, taken into custody and that the situation was under control.The flare-up began in Damjipura when Hindu organisations staged a protest against the incident after the video came to light. The cow, which was allegedly raped, belonged to the accused, police said.
