SRINAGAR: More than 3.20 lakh job seekers were registered on the Jammu and Kashmir employment portal as of August 31, 2026, according to official data, with Anantnag recording the highest employment registrations among J&K’s 20 districts.The live J&K employment register stood at 3,20,942 job seekers, including 2,08,711 males and 1,12,228 females.The Kashmir division accounted for 1,71,426 registrations, while the Jammu division recorded 1,49,516 job seekers.Anantnag topped the district-wise employment registration figures with 34,543 job seekers, followed by Kathua with 26,847. Kulgam recorded 21,463 registrations, while Baramulla and Kupwara had 19,588 and 19,510 respectively.Shopian recorded 18,747 registrations, followed by Samba with 17,499, Poonch with 16,724 and Rajouri with 15,537.Among other Kashmir districts, Ganderbal had 14,335 registered job seekers, Pulwama 14,132, Bandipora 11,140, Budgam 9,666 and Srinagar 8,302.In the Jammu division, Jammu district recorded 11,992 registrations, while Kishtwar had the lowest figure at 9,308.Males accounted for around 65 per cent of the registered job seekers, compared with nearly 35 per cent females. Anantnag also recorded the highest number of female registrations in Kashmir at 14,963.The J&K employment registration system allows job seekers to enrol through District Employment and Counselling Centres and access employment-related services through the official employment portal.
