Illegal Extraction of Minerals Curbed in Anantnag, Several Vehicles ImpoundedAnantnag, Nov 10, KNT:  Anantnag Police seized multiple vehicles involved in unlawful extraction and movement of mineral materials across the district.

Acting on specific inputs, a police team in the Larnoo area intercepted and seized two tractors that were transporting mining material without valid royalty receipts or required documentation. In a separate action at Bringi Nala in Gadvail, police seized a JCB machine and another tractor found engaged in illegal extraction of minerals.

Officials said strict legal action has been initiated against the violators, and relevant sections of law have been invoked to curb the practice. The operation forms part of the ongoing enforcement campaign to protect natural resources and ensure strict compliance with government regulations concerning mining and mineral transportation.

Police have reiterated their commitment to continuing the drive across the district and appealed to the general public to refrain from engaging in illegal mining or transportation activities. The public has also been urged to extend cooperation to the authorities in safeguarding the environment and public assets.
