Family of Dr. Nisar ul Hassan refutes absconding claims, say he was formally taken for questioning by NIA

Dr. Suriya, wife of Dr. Nisar ul Hassan, a Professor of Medicine at Alfalah University, has refuted reports circulating in sections of the media claiming that her husband is absconding.Speaking to Rising Kashmir, Dr. Suriya clarified that the reports are “totally fabricated” and that Dr. Nisar has not gone missing or absconded. “Some media channels are spreading false news. My husband has been formally taken by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for questioning, along with other faculty members, scholars, and students,” she said.Dr. Suriya stated that the university administration has all relevant documentation confirming that Dr. Nisar was officially taken for questioning as part of an ongoing probe.“Some incident reportedly took place involving a few doctors allegedly linked to anti-national activities, but my husband is innocent and has no connection with any such matters,” she added.She appealed to media outlets to verify facts before reporting and to refrain from spreading misinformation that could harm reputations and cause unnecessary distress to families.
