Srinagar, September 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JK BOPEE) has invited offline applications from eligible candidates for MBBS seats under the Central Pool quota for the academic year 2026-27.The four MBBS seats reserved for spouses and children of civilian victims of terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir have been allocated to medical colleges in different parts of the country.According to the notification issued by JK BOPEE, one seat has been earmarked at A.N. Magadh Medical College, Gaya, Bihar, one at Grant Medical College, Mumbai, Maharashtra, and two seats at Pt. JNM Medical College, Raipur, Chhattisgarh.Who Can Apply for Central Pool MBBS Seats?Candidates applying under the Central Pool MBBS quota for terror victims must be permanent residents of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.The applicant must be either the spouse or child of a deceased or disabled civilian victim of terrorism. Candidates must also have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or attain the required age on or before December 31 of the admission year.As per National Medical Commission (NMC) norms, applicants must have individually passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English and meet the prescribed marks criteria. Candidates must also have qualified NEET UG 2026 with the required percentile.Selection Based on NEET UG 2026 RankSelection for the J&K Central Pool MBBS seats will be based on the candidate’s rank in NEET UG 2026, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).JK BOPEE has clarified that the Ministry of Home Affairs will not conduct a separate examination for these MBBS seats.Submission of an application alone will not guarantee selection. Final selection will be made by the concerned Ministry in accordance with the applicable rules. The J&K reservation policy will also apply to the Central Pool MBBS seats.Priority for Eligible FamiliesThe notification lays down a priority system for candidates seeking admission under the terror victims’ quota.The first priority will be given to children whose both parents have been killed by terrorists. The second priority will cover children from families where the sole breadwinner was killed by terrorists.The third priority will be given to wards of victims who suffered permanent disability or serious injuries in terrorist operations.For Priority I and Priority II, the benefit is restricted to one ward per family.Documents Required for ApplicationApplicants for the Central Pool MBBS seats will be required to submit documents including:Domicile CertificateNEET UG 2026 Score Card10+2 Marks CardDate of Birth CertificateCategory Certificate, wherever applicableFIRDeath CertificatePostmortem ReportAffidavit confirming that no other family member has received the benefit under this categoryFor candidates applying under Priority II, a certificate confirming that the deceased was the family’s sole breadwinner is required. The certificate must be issued by the concerned SHO and hospital and duly countersigned by the SSP and Tehsildar before authentication by the Administrative Secretary, Home Department.For Priority III candidates, the nature of injury and disability must be certified by the J&K Police or Home Department, as applicable.JK BOPEE Application DeadlineEligible candidates must submit their applications in duplicate physically at the JK BOPEE offices in Jammu or Srinagar by September 15, 2026, up to 4 PM.The notification provides an opportunity for eligible families in Jammu and Kashmir affected by terrorism to seek admission to MBBS courses through the Central Pool quota based on their NEET UG 2026 performance.
